In Bearded Garden, I transform my beard into a blooming, vibrant canvas—planting flowers where strength and softness meet. This self-portrait series explores the layered identity of a black man reclaiming vulnerability and self-expression through color, creativity, and contrast. Traditionally seen as a symbol of masculinity, the beard becomes a living garden—delicate yet bold, soft yet rooted. By intertwining florals into this emblem of strength, I challenge expectations and invite viewers to witness a harmony of resilience and tenderness growing in full bloom.
From time to time I like to come out of my shell from hiding behind the camera. These self portraits show my growth in my photography skills but also how I’ve improved in my creativity.
The photos on top are the most recent going down to my very first christmas self portrait.
